The Readers Digest

today i suddenly saw the similarity of the wathtower / awake illustrations and the illustrations in the readers digest publications.. could have been made by the same artist, (or group of artists).

i am wondering, is the readers digest somehow connected to the watchtower ?.

Slightly off topic - What used to make me really laugh was when you got those Readers Digest prize draw documents through the post.

Apparently our house had been 'specially selected' to enter. Yup - our house, the house two doors along, the next door neighbour, the house across the street, their neighbour, etc.....

Did anyone ever win anything in these prize draws? And what about the free gifts with the condensed books...one year we got a letter sealing kit, complete with lump of wax and a stamper which we could have engraved with our own family seal....very useful I'm sure you'll agree.

Just had my first ever study with a JW

i wanted to ask questions about the organisation, but he looked me in the eye & ignored my questions to pursue his agenda.. he listed about 15 topics for us to study, to prove only jws are based on 1st century christianity.

i got him to agree not to attack other religions, (proving them false does not prove jws true) he agreed with this but then went on to criticise other religions!

next week i'll be firmer on this point!.

Fleaman - you provocateur you - Scots have been one of the main contributors to English Soccer for decades.

Sir Awex Ferguson, Graeme Souness, George Graham, Dennis Law, Sir Matt Busby, Billy Bremner, Davie Moyes, Kenny Dalgliesh, Alan Hansen, and of course Glasgow Celtic were the first UK side to win a European Cup (unfortunately). Who could forget Jim Baxter's keepy uppie in the 1967 victory? I would go on but that would be just rubbing it in - - -LOL

Why is the UK suddenly doing a lot of tourism advertising in the US?

lately i have noticed that there are a lot of tourism ads coming from the uk leading me to believe that american tourism dropped off in the uk.

is it the weak dollar or do you think that something else is involved?

more ad money to spend?

Did you breed them or just have one as a pet?

My EEC subsidy means that my haggis farm is doing very nicely thank you. Once they're neutered they make delightful pets.
